Rush City High School student jailed for making threats
The sheriff reported that his deputies arrested a 17-year-old high school junior after the youth threatened to bomb Rush City High School and made direct threats against a fellow student and said he would “shoot up the school.” The incident was reported late Monday morning this week. Sheriff Rick Duncan advised the youth is being held in the Regional Juvenile Center at Lino Lakes and the case is being investigated. Numerous vehicle crashes reported again this past week, related to the rain and snow mix...one accident involved a snowmobile trail grooming unit belonging to Wild River Snowmobile Club. The groomer was on the shoulder of County Road 14, going from one trail to another near 347th Street, but was traveling in the wrong direction of traffic. The SUV driver approaching the groomer said he braked and slid into the front of the groomer unit. Neither the groomer operator nor a friend riding in the groomer or the SUV driver were injured. The SUV driver was cited for failure to provide proof of insurance. There was a property damage crash at Hemingway and Cty. Road #19. A lightpole was taken out at the Rush City-I 35 exit when a driver spun out. There were people transported from a rollover crash dec. 16 about 10 a.m. in Lent Township, at Falcon Ave. and Fawn Lake. A 38-year-old Lindstrom woman was driving. Theft of a Ride snowboard at Wild Mt. It is white and blue and has green Burton bindings Report Dec.16 of a pistol stolen from a vehicle parked at a North Branch motel. It is a Glock 9 mm and also a 17 round magazine of ammunition. HP laptop computer was also taken.
