Tyler Adams lunges across the goalline for a touchdown. The senior running back had 116 yards and two touchdowns in North Branch’s win over Hermantown.
Only a week after airing it out nearly 30 times and pounding Princeton through the air, the North Branch football squad moved their assault to the ground, and it was just as potent.

Despite massive effort from Trost, CL falls to Becker in shootout
Any way you look at it, 100 points is a lot of points.  And 1,000 yards is a lot of yards.  So, if you are a fan of a lot of offense in a football game, you were in luck last Friday night when the Wildcats hosted the Becker Bulldogs in the season opener at Chisago Lakes High School.  The two teams combined to score exactly 100 points in a game with nine lead changes that featured over 1,029 yards of total offense.  Unfortunately for the Wildcats and their fans, the Bulldogs, with the help of some trickery, pulled away in the fourth quarter to beat the Wildcats 56-44.

It’s been at least 15 years since North Branch football has scored 50 points in a game, and it’s been about the same amount of time since there’s been this much excitement around the program.

With no deep spring playoff runs this year, the annual top 11 list will be getting out right on time, as opposed to last year’s column that was pushed back because of North Branch’s surprising baseball state tournament run.

Blood, sweat... and now tears?
You know the old saying: Blood, sweat and tears. I really didn’t think my journey through the Farrell’s Extreme Bodyshaping 10-week program would produce anything more than sweat, but I was wrong. The blood and tears may not have been many, but as any of my workout partners can attest, the sweat part more than made up for those two.
