The Chisago County Planning Commission has prepared a DRAFT update to the Chisago County Comprehensive Plan. This update includes new information about demographics and housing, information about natural resources, references to the County’s Parks and Trails and Transportation Plans and updated information about agriculture in Chisago County. The updated plan also includes new information about economic development, infrastructure (including broadband and internet availability) and intergovernmental coordination in Chisago County. The draft plan update also has updated land use and implementation elements to reflect current and expected trends in land use in Chisago County. Lastly, the proposed plan has updated goals and policies for all these areas of interest and concern.
The draft plan update is available for review and Chisago County is seeking comments on the proposed plan update as part of the public engagement process.
Copies of the draft Comprehensive Plan update will available for review by June 16, 2017 as follows:
On the Chisago County website
In the Environmental Services Office in the Chisago County Government Center in Center City
At each City Hall in the County
At each Township
At the public libraries in Wyoming, Chisago City, Taylors Falls, North Branch and Rush City.

The Chisago County Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing to consider the proposed Comprehensive Plan update on Thursday August 3, 2017 at 7:00 PM or later. The Planning Commission will hold this public hearing in Meeting Room 150B of the Chisago County Government Center, 313 North Main Street, Center City, MN 55012.
