Math Masters regional tournament
Students from Chisago Lakes representing Lakeside and Taylors Falls Elementary participated in the regional Math Masters of Minnesota Challenge at St. Croix Middle School, in Hammond, WI on April 20, 2018.
Math Masters of Minnesota began in 1989. Today, there are approximately 6,000 fifth and sixth graders registered to compete. Math Masters is designed to promote excellence in critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities as well as provide recognition to students for academic effort and achievement. Teams and individual students from private and public schools may compete in Math Masters. Math Masters is supported by The Hormel Foundation as well as many other individuals and businesses.
Chisago Lakes Teams performed well amongst the 22 teams and 110 students competing at this site. The Lakeside Teams are coached by 5 Grade Teachers Mr. Maahs & Mrs. Overgaard. The Taylors Falls team is coached by Mrs. Casterton. Lakeside teams placed First, Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth. Taylors Falls placed Seventh.
Students also demonstrated excellence in Individual Facts and the Individual Portion of the competition.
