May 21 the Apostolic Church of Harris reported a shed was entered and a riding lawnmower is missing.  Entry to the shed was possible from a set of keys,  the pastor had reported as stolen in March from his office. The mower is a Toro zero-turn model.

Lakes Area Police have been getting calls of IRS scams that are continuing well beyond the April 15 tax deadline ...the caller tells the person they are on the verge of being arrested by the Internal Revenue Service if they don’t send money immediately. DO NOT send money or give any financial information by phone to someone claiming to represent the government.

May 1 a report of a distrubance at Rustic Inn in Stacy about 6:20 p.m.  A car driven by a patron, who was ejected from the bar, struck another vehicle in the lot according to witnesses.

Theft from Stacy Self Storage reported and a stolen compound bow was reportedly offered for sale at a nearby business but the sale was declined. Storage unit break-in happened sometime over weekend of April 15-16.
April 17 a theft from a Harris address, Stihl chainsaw and Black and Decker tools missing.

Sunday, April 16 deputy on patrol dispatched to crash at Lyons Street and Fawn Lake Drive about 3:45 a.m.  Driver not hurt and was driven by squad car to her home. Crash site was over county line in Anoka County. Vehicle was ‘totaled.’

DEA Take-Back Day April 29
Law Enforcement agencies are reminding readers of the drug take-back program. The proper way to dispose of medical products and prescription drugs is NOT to flush them;  but to use drug drop-offs at the sheriff’s offices at the county government center, lower level, and at North Branch Police Department at North Branch City Hall and at Rush City Hall.
