Sunday, October 22 you may have noticed crews replacing a power pole on Chisago Boulevard on the south end of Chisago Lake early this week.  Damage was due to a passenger car striking the pole at Maxwell Road and breaking the pole in-two.  Authorities found the vehicle abandoned about 4:15 a.m.  The insurance information card was located inside the vehicle and sheriff’s personnel are investigating.  Xcel was notified to replace the pole, which according to an energy company lineman said would be okay, in the position it was left in,  as long as the car wasn’t towed.

A 54-year-old Forest Lake resident entered a guilty plea in court in Center City this week, admitting to two counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct with two 13 year-old-girls. Finalizing the plea bargain lets  county prosecutors avoid trial and calling two young victims to testify. The agreement also took a life sentence off the table.  The plea agreement is for 400 months total for both counts; which means release could be granted after 25 years under guidelines.
