DEA Take-Back Day April 29
Law Enforcement agencies are reminding readers of the drug take-back program. The proper way to dispose of medical products and prescription drugs is NOT to flush them;  but to use drug drop-offs at the sheriff’s offices at the county government center, lower level, and at North Branch Police Department at North Branch City Hall and at Rush City Hall.

A set of downed powerlines required Lakes Area Police attention during the episodes of high winds recently...one at Olinda and Newell, in Lindstrom and one fell aross Hwy. 8 at Lofton/Old Towne.  No injuries reported, Xcel came and handled the calls. Also, a downed low voltage cable (phone/TV?) fell at Kost Trail in Sunrise. Deputies were able to move it off the road. A truck-car accident happened in Shafer March 7 when a driver braked upon seeing a wire in the roadway and was rear-ended by a pickup truck driver. The black-colored truck left the scene.
