Dorothy Bonivieve Erickson

Dorothy Bonivieve Erickson was born on August 30, 1931 in Parola, India. She went to be with her Lord on October 11, 2012 at Fairview Lakes in Wyoming, Minnesota. She married Gerald Leon Erickson on August 17, 1957 in Rockford, IL and lived in East Chain, Minnesota on the family farm. They lived there from 1957 to 1991, when they retired from farming and moved to their retirement home in East Chain, and moving to Lindstrom, Minnesota in 2001. She graduated from Paynesville High School in 1949 and Swedish American Nurses Training School in Rockford, IL. She was employed as a nurse at Fairmont Community Hospital until her retirement in 1994. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Judith Ribe and sister Eleanor Krispin. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Gerald and four children Tim (Carole) Erickson of Tomah, WI; Judy Erickson (Jim Birkholz) of Shafer, MN, Brad (Maggie) Erickson of Fairmont, MN; and Rod Erickson of Sandstone, MN; five grandchildren, Doug Erickson of Racine, WI, Angie (Levi) Frost of Tomah, WI, Joe Birkholz, Amelia Birkholz and Sam Birkholz of Shafer, MN. Dorothy is also survived by brothers Ken (Sue) Ribe of Minnetonka, MN, and John (Reta) Ribe of Danforth, ME. She was active in the past as a member of the East Chain Evangelical Free Church, serving in children’s ministries, as a deaconess, Women’s Missionary Society, since 1986 Gideon Auxilary in Fairmont and St. Croix Valley; Caring Pregnancy Center in Fairmont, Christian Women’s Club in Fairmont and St. Croix Valley. She was also active in Lakes Evangelical Free Church in Lindstrom. She had the gift of hospitality and enjoyed entertaining friends and family. She enjoyed baking, reading and traveling. Visitation was at Grandstand Funeral Home in Lindstrom, MN Sunday, October 14. Funeral services at Lakes Free Church in Lindstrom, MN Monday, October 15. Interment will be East Chain Cemetery at 11:30 on Saturday, October 20, 2012 followed by a fellowship and lunch at the church. Memorials preferred to: The Gideons International, St. Croix Valley Camp, P.O. Box 132, North Branch, MN 55056
