Danny Allen (Bimbo)
Danny Allen (Bimbo) Proefrock was born at home in Hamberg, North Dakota on July 18, 1953 to parents Franklin and Verna (Bonnie) Proefrock.
When he was three years old he moved with his family to St. Paul, Minnesota. In 1968 Danny and his family, which included his two brothers and four sisters, moved to Forest Lake, Minnesota. Danny graduated from Forest Lake High School in 1971. In 1972, he enlisted in the Army. The Army sent Danny to Germany in 1973. While in Germany, Danny met the love of his life, Christa Steidle. On June 19, 1976, Danny and Christa were married in Forest Lake and lived in the Forest Lake area after they were married. Danny and Christa were blessed with two children, Stephanie and Jeffrey.
They bought a home in 1981 in Shafer, Minnesota where he lived till his death on June 14, 2013. Stephanie married Greg Lundell and blessed Danny with a granddaughter Jada and two grandsons Liam and Riley. Jeffrey married Jamie and also blessed him with two more grandsons Tyler and Lucas. Danny and Christa lived for their children and grandchildren. Danny’s other love was camping, fishing and hunting. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, children, nieces and nephews. He and Christa would take their two kids plus as many nieces and nephews they could handle, to go camping, fishing, or just stay overnight at uncle Danny’s. Danny was also teaching the grandchildren to use their imagination. When Tyler caught a fish, he showed Tyler how to tell his dad Jeff about the fish he caught. As a true fisherman, every time Tyler retold the story, the fish got bigger. Danny’s last wish was to go fishing. He is now fishing with Jesus.
He is preceded in death by his parents Franklin and Bonnie Proefrock; stepmother Sandy; sisters Diane and Lori; and nephew Markie; brother-in-law Emmett.
Danny is survived by his wife Christa; children Stephanie (Greg) Lundell and Jeffrey (Jamie) Proefrock; grandchildren Jada, Liam, Tyler, Lucas, and Riley; siblings Leslie (Sharon Rodewald) Proefrock, David (Kim) Proefrock, Michelle Proefrock, and Julien Proefrock; brothers-in-law Mark Cornell and Ken Kropelniki; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
