Curtis Anderson, age 91 of Fridley, formerly of Lindstrom, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2017 at White Pine Assisted Living in Fridley.
Curtis was born May 21, 1926 in Taylors Falls to parents Roy and Mildred (Videen) Anderson. He attended school in Shafer and graduated in 1944. Curtis enlisted in the U.S. Navy in October of 1944 and served his country during WW II until his discharge in July of 1946. He completed course studies from Miami University in Ohio while serving in the military. Upon his return from active duty he worked as an accountant for John Wood Company in St. Paul and later worked for Wally Carlson, delivering fuel. Curtis took a job with the City of Lindstrom as City Clerk/Treasurer in August of 1969 and held that position until his retirement in May of 1988. He married Merilyn Leese on April 21, 1950 in St. Paul.
Curtis enjoyed photography, watching baseball and time with his grandchildren. He was proud of his Swedish Heritage and loved anything Swedish. He truly enjoyed his three trips to Sweden where he found many of his family’s ancestors, and assisted in tracing the family tree back to the 1600’s. Eleven of the last twelve years were spent living with his grandson Shane and his family in New Brighton, before he entered the White Pine Assisted Living, in Fridley, in September of 2016.
Curtis is survived by his daughter Dawn (Rick) Williams of Royersford, PA; his grandsons Shane (Brenda) Anderson and Jason Fallon and his two great grandchildren Nicole and Charlie; step grandchildren Brian and Erik Williams and step great grandchildren Gabe, Kameron, Skylar, Mason and Josie. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Merilyn in 2003, and son Craig in 2010.
