Henry Peloquin

Henry Patrick “Red” Peloquin was born on March 21, 1933 in Stillwater, Minnesota to Elizabeth and William Peloquin. He attended elementary school at the Maple Island one room schoolhouse before moving to White Bear Lake and attending St. Mary’s Catholic School. He graduated from White Bear High in 1951 and in 1953 married Rita Anne Moore. Married for 64 years, they raised seven children.

Red and Rita moved the family from White Bear Lake to Lindstrom, Minnesota in 1969, which remained their primary residence for the next 45-plus years. Red worked at 3M Company for 38 years and enjoyed fishing, bowling, and playing Bridge. He retired in 1991 and began another phase in life with traveling, golfing, and growing Christmas trees. Red and Rita spent many winters in Lake Havasu City, Arizona and spent summers in Lindstrom. Always a sharp mind, Red learned to use a computer after retirement and was on the Internet daily.

Red was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Joe, Lawrence and James; sisters Lucy, Rose Marie and Eva Mae; son John Peloquin, and grandson Perrin Peloquin. He is survived by his wife Rita; brother Paul (Helen) Peloquin; daughters Mary Jo Peloquin, Jeanne Peloquin and Betsy (Steve) Sandgren; and sons Dave (Mary) Peloquin, Steve (Shellene Johnson) Peloquin and Mark (Donna) Peloquin, 14 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at St. Bridget of Sweden Catholic Church in Lindstrom.  Visitation for Red Monday evening, March 26 at the Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom.  Interment at Hillside Cemetery in Center City at a later date.  Condolences may be expressed online at www.grandstrandfh.com
