Fatal crashes involve local motorists
There was a fatal accident involving a pedestrian on I-35 about a mile north of the Highway 8 intersection, in Wyoming, that was reported about 10:15 p.m. Saturday, October 5.
State Patrol says a 19-year-old male from Spring Lake Park was walking on the stripe between the two southbound lanes. A Toyota Rav-4 driven by a male from Eden Prairie, struck him and he fell into the left side of the southbound lane, where a Toyota Camry, driven by an 18-year old male from North Branch, impacted the fallen pedestrian. The pedestrian died at the scene.
The state patrol is investigating. The trooper was assisted by Forest Lake and Wyoming Police.
And, a Harris area woman was killed October 2 in Dakota County.
Authorities report Rebecca Christine Waller, 22, crossed over Highway 55 to travel on Argenta, and traffic on #55 impacted her 2003 Honda Accord. The first vehicle to hit her car was a pickup truck, followed by a Peterbilt semi trailer truck. The crash was reported about 8:30 a.m. The other two drivers were unhurt.
