1/9/2020 3:44:00 PM Montzka is 2020 Board Chair; county admin interviews begin
The Chair for the County Board in 2020 is District 4 Ben Montzka, the commissioner for the area of Wyoming-Stacy. Montzka was seated during the organizational meeting the first Tuesday of a new year.
Vice Chair unanimously elected is Commissioner Chris DuBose, representing the Center City-Lent Township and south of Hwy 95 North Branch areas in District 1. There were a number of citizen committee appointments approved, nearly all incumbents. There is still a vacancy on the Extension Committee, for Commissioner DuBose’s First District. Please see the county website or contact DuBose if you are interested in serving on this group.
The 2020 County Board meeting schedule remains the same, the first and third Wednesday nights at 6:30. There was brief discussion about a daytime meeting, mostly to facilitate county staff who attend meetings periodically, but consensus is that there can always be a special start-time meeting called on an as- needed basis.
The Board then re-convened and continued to meet Tuesday afternoon to begin interviews with candidates for county administrator.
Six people have applied and three were scheduled for interviews Tuesday and three for Wednesday this week. Chase Burnham is serving as interim administrator since Bruce Messelt moved on to accept a job with another county at the end of last summer.
