Wannigan Days added to list of local cancelled celebrations
The two-city, interstate celebration Wannigan Days is called-off this summer. The organizing committee says the cities will get something together this fall.
Wannigan Days committee members encourage everyone to support local businesses as some re-open fully and others welcome business in phases. “The safety of our citizens must be our first concern,” commented committee member Sandra Berg. “The elements that truly make Wannigan Days what it is are the two-city-uniting activities such as the big parade and fireworks show, and large crowds are just not manageable this year.”
There’s still events to look forward to July 17-19, with the St. Croix Falls Art Fair, activities on area trails, kayaking and canoeing, the parking lot music at the Dalles House and other traditional summer events.
Elsewhere it’s been announced the Chisago County Fair is canceled, Karl Oskar Days and Center City Days, are not happening, and June’s MidSummer in North Branch did not take place.
Ki-Chi-Saga Days will be held August 20-23. Chisago County SnoBarons’ Hay Days is still planned for September 12 and 13.
