Lent has new appointed supervisor
The Lent Township Board has chosen Jess Eischens to fill a town board supervisor vacancy created by Lisa Sinna’s recent resignation. Sinna was approaching the end of her second year in her term when her resignation was acknowledged by the Board in August. According to Minnesota statutes Eischens serves until the next general election when Lent has supervisors on the ballot. A special election will seat someone for the remainder of the four year supervisor ‘C’ term, which Sinna won in November 2018.
According to the township clerk Eischens and two others Jeff Barrett and Bob Schule-- applied to be considered for appointment.
In voting this week (in unofficial results) Lent Township incumbent Supervisors Carolyn Cagle and Richard Keller, running unopposed, won their seats.
Lent Township residents expanded their township government and went to five supervisors elected on staggered years, where generally townships have three supervisors.
Lent Township and Nessel Twsp. are two Chisago County Townships that hold officer election in November, a departure from the March Annual Town Meeting process used in other townships.
