The preliminary details of the two vehicle crash in Nessel that kiled three men are starting to come together, although the Chisago County Sheriff’s Office can not release the names of victims just yet.

The families of the victims have been contacted but definitive confirmation was being made through medical records, the sheriff’s office reported. The victims are believed to be from St. Paul and were travelling in a passenger car.

A small bus and the car crashed near the intersection of Clover Trail and County Road 7, Friday Feb. 12, at approximately 7:50 a.m., according to callers reporting the incident.

Rush City firefighters arrived and extinguished flames that resulted. Braham Fire Department was also on scene. State Patrol, and its crash reconstruction team, Lakes Region EMS and the Chisago County Highway Department provided aid as well.
