The prosecution has dismissed one charge of arson against a former Rush City resident, due to a vital witness being unavailable. The felony charge against Matthew Mahlon Niles, 27, had been connected to a fire that consumed a structure on Government Road, in March 2020.
Meantime, an arson case against a Center City man, accused of setting fire to the Doyle Memorial Ballfields concessions building, in June 2020, is proceeding.
Ryan John Patzer, 29, is charged with second degree arson that resulted in approximately $9,000 in damages. He is due in court for a hearing in May and is on conditional release.
