Township ballot results
Shafer Township had 99 votes cast in last week’s election, a relatively good turnout. The voters seated Mark Stovern in the supervisor post that was occupied by Kurt Nelson. The tally was 72 to 27.
Treasurer Dominique Haller was returned to office with 86 votes.
In Sunrise Township Gerald Bjork did not seek re-election. His seat went to Dan Kaiser, who got 32 of 68 votes cast.
Deborah Kelleher got 20, and John Waldorf got 14, with one write-in and an under vote ballot counted.
Mark Osland was unchallenged and he continues to serve receiving 51 votes. There were five write-ins and 12 ballots not marked.
Due to the number of citizens inside the town hall and COVID-19 distancing standards, there was a motion to continue the meeting and reconvene at Sunrise Bible Church, Thursday, May 13 at 7:00 p.m.
Fish Lake had 53 votes and all were for incumbent Supervisor Jim Thill.
Amador Township voters approved a ballot question granting supervisors the authority to appoint a clerk and treasurer. Incumbents Lin Strong and Bob Linder were re-elected and were unopposed.
Chisago Lake Township had just 23 voters. Candidates were incumbents: Dave Reed returned as supervisor and Judy Straub was re-elected as treasurer.
