Hwy. 8 'open house' to run virtually April 12-29
If you are curious about proposed improvements along Hwy. 8 or if you have been hoping to give some input or to just learn more about the concept, Chisago County invites interested people to see a website for a “virtual public engagement event.”
Starting April 12 through April 29 the Trunk Highway 8 Project Website will serve as an internet open house. The website will carry layouts for the projects planned, alternatives, and details known so far. There will be opportunities to share concerns and comments and ask questions.
Chisago County Engineer Joe Triplett reports that there’s $20 million committed to Highway 8 projects, and “...with the help of our state and federal legislators we will continue to seek additional state and federal funding.”
The county continues to coordinate the future expanion plans and corridor design and analysis. The work area affected lies between I-35 and Karmel in Chisago City.
The traditional in-person meetings and informational open house formats are not possible at this time, and the virtual format was determined to be the best option to inform the public. Go to https://www.chisagocounty.us/1115/Trunk-Highway-8 to participate, starting April 12.
