Vacant seat on Water and Light open for applications until June 18
The North Branch City Council set up an application process to fill the vacancy on the Water and Light Commission. In its regular meeting Tuesday, May 25, council set a deadline for applications of noontime, June 18.
The next regular council session would be June 22 and hopefully council can act on appointing or scheduling interviews soon after.
The opening was created when Chair Terry Smith stepped down at the May 19 Water and Light Commission meeting (story in Press on-line May 21) The Press reported Nathan Keech had accepted being promoted from vice-chair to lead the commission, now consisting of four members.
The commission oversees the utility’s electric and water services. It meets twice monthly on the first and third Wednesdays at city hall at 4:30 p.m. There are subcommittees that may also be asked to hold meetings depending on issues facing the commission.
Please see the North Branch City website for the form to apply or details.
