Lindstrom Council gets ready for 2022 business
The 2022 annual organizational city council meeting for Lindstrom was held Monday night this week.
Council Member Laurie Burington participated on-line and the rest of council met in person.
The appointments to seats on the parks committee and HRA were approved: Rusty Johnson and Matt Rein for parks and Mike Albers, Cheryl Campbell, Keith Carlson and Karlene Bengston for the Housing and Redevelopment Authority seats.
Service providers remained the same for 2022, legal publications continue in the Chisago County Press, legal counsel provided by Campbell Knutson, engineering by MSA and planning consultant is Hoisington Koegler Group. Lake Area Bank is still the city depository until such time the announced credit union takeover is completed. The City Administrator said council can re-evaluate at that time. Royal Credit Union acquisition of Lake Area Bank is expected to be finalized in 2022.
The covid pandemic continues but dedicated funds for providing paychecks during COVID-related job absences has run out, Administrator John Olinger informed council. Not specifically on the agenda for Monday, a discussion will need to take place in coming weeks on if the city can provide compensation for staff during mandated times of isolation if ill with COVID-19.
