Annual LID meeting February 7 at government center
Chisago Lakes Lake Improvement District is holding its annual meeting both virtually and in-person in early February. The on-line meeting will have a link posted on the Lake Improvement District website just prior to the meeting, which is at 6:30 p.m. Monday, February 7. People attending will be asked to keep socially distanced, there is no mask mandate at this time.
The LID Board will have reports and presentations about projects done in the past year and what is coming up.
Voting for the LID Board seat expiring for Area 2 does not happen at the meeting.
You can request an absentee ballot or you can vote in person at the government center environmental services offices, Feb 7 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Your absentee ballot needs to be delivered to the government center (outdoor entry drop box or Environmental Services) by 4:30 p.m. Feb 7. Each property owner within the Lake Improvement District, which is a special taxation area, gets one vote.
Vote in person at the government center the day of the meeting, Feb. 7 until 4:30 p.m. Ballots are provided at Environmental Services suite 240 on the ground floor of the Government Center.
Those who filed for Area 2 include the incumbent, Jill Behnke, retired, who lives in and is mayor of, Center City and has been on the LID Board for 10 years.
Also on the ballot are, Robert Klatt of Shafer, retired city of Woodbury Parks and Recreation Director and Scott Noland, Center City, who works for the DNR.
