5/12/2022 11:15:00 AM North Branch applicants for city council appointments have May 23 deadline
If you have been considering applying for the vacant seat on the North Branch City Council there’s only a few days to act. The city website recently posted forms and information, for citizens to download an application form and to review the rules for applying.
The city council (with member Kathy Blomquist and resigned member Amanda Darwin absent) on May 10 okayed the form and materials and decided the deadline for submitted applications is May 23.
A “review” of interested applicants for appointment is slated for the regular council meeting, Tuesday May 24.
This process is to fill Amanda Darwin’s council seat which she resigned in April. Whoever is appointed serves until the end of 2022. There will also be a November ballot for this seat out to 2024. Filing for this general election special seat doesn’t open until August.
