7/29/2022 11:54:00 AM Center City Days welcomes Hoefler as Grand Marshal
This year Center City is proud to announce that Karla Hoefler will be the Grand Marshal for the 2022 Center City Days celebration. The event takes place July 29 to the 31st.
Hoefler grew up right here in the river valley around Taylors Falls. Her parents ran the successful Chisago House restaurant in Taylors Falls for years and Karla worked there all through school. She graduated from Taylors Falls High School.
Hoefler was always interested in hair styles and the business aspect of salons and barber shops, so much so, that she attended barber school immediately after high school.
In 1982, Hoefler decided she wanted to own a barber shop and purchased Silver Shears. Silver Shears in 1982 was located where Bayview Dental is located today, but in 1986 Hoefler saw an opportunity to own a downtown storefront and moved to Silver Shears’ current location in downtown Center City along Summit Avenue. The building was much larger and had room for expansion.
Karla married Dave Hoefler 40 years ago this September. If the name sounds familiar, Dave is the owner of Chisago Lakes Sanitation. Together they have three boys, two daughters-in laws and as Karla puts it “Seven of the most beautiful grandkids in the world”.
Hoefler was hesitant to take the Grand Marshal position “I don’t enjoy drawing attention to myself, but I was flattered and being in business in Center City for 40 years is a great thing.”
“God has blessed me over the years. Part of that blessing is having been in Center City this whole time and getting to know so many people. I have a great staff who also make it a joy to go to work. I love our small town. We have a lot of great businesses there. I hope everyone can come and celebrate with us and check out all that Center City has to offer.”
Congratulations to Karla on a massive business accomplishment and on her new title.
