Chisago Lakes girls hockey gets second win of the year over Woodbury

Chisago Lakes 2, Woodbury 0
Jenna Lawry scored both goals and goalie Megan Lerfald stopped all 27 shots she faced to lead the Wildcats to a 2-0 win over the Woodbury Royals.  It was just the second win of the season for the Wildcats (2-10).  The game was played Friday, December 22 at Chisago Lakes Arena.

Lawry scored her first goal at 12:51 of the first period, assisted by Danielle Burgen, to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead.  She scored again just a minute into the third period to stretch the Wildcat lead to 2-0 and give them a little breathing room.  Malia McKinnon and Burgen assisted on the goal.  The Royals outshot the Wildcats 27-26 for the game.

Hockey Hullaballoo
The Wildcats will play in the Schwan’s Cup Hockey Tournament today through Saturday at the Schwan Super Rink in Blaine.  Their first game is today at 2:30 p.m. vs. the North Metro Stars on Rink #7.  Their game times Friday and Saturday will depend on today’s results.  Next Tuesday, January 2, the Wildcats will head to the Parade Ice Garden for a 2 p.m. matinee against the Minneapolis Novas (4-8).
