Gorski heading to state
Savannah Gorski headlined a strong diving performance for the Chisago Lakes Wildcats in their section meet last weekend.
Gorski qualified for the state tournament for the third year in a row, and two other CL divers placed in the top eight.
“Savannah was focused on her dives and her goals as the season went along and she had one of her best performances in sections,” Head Coach Ellen Heath said. “Her hard work and focus really paid off.”
Gorski’s first round of state at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center was on Wednesday, November 14 after the Press went to deadline. If she advances, she’ll dive on Friday, November 16 at noon at the U of M.
Swimmers had nice times, but with Visitation in the section, it doesn’t leave much room for individual qualifiers. Ilse Johnson medaled in two events, Niya Duren had a few personal best times, as well as Meri Annola-Hakes, who dropped six seconds from her personal best in the 100 freestyle.
“As coaches, we were encouraged by how positive everyone was and how well they swam,” Heath said.
