Princeton 4, Chisago Lakes 2 In last Thursday’s game at Princeton, Tate Swanson scored twice to tie the game at 2-2. But the Tigers broke the tie with a goal last in the third period and added an empty netter with six seconds remaining to make the final score Princeton 4, Chisago Lakes 2.
Princeton scored two power plays goals early in the first period to take a 2-0 lead. Swanson scored a power play goal three minutes into the second period, assisted by Justin Lawry, to cut the Tiger lead to one. And with just over two minutes to go in the period, Swanson scored his second goal of the game to tie it 2-2. Thomas Overgaard and Lawry has the assists on the second goal. The two teams battled back and forth in the third period until Princeton broke through with the go-ahead goal at the 15:54 mark.
Hockey Hullaballoo The Wildcats (8-4-0) will play in the Schwan’s Cup at the Schwan Super Rink at the National Sports Center over the New Year’s weekend. On Saturday, December 29 the will play Bloomington Kennedy on Rink #2 at 7:30 p.m. They will also play on Monday, December 31 and Tuesday, January 1. Game times and opponents on Monday and Tuesday will depend on the results of the preceding games.
