Fish closes her career with 15th place finish on beam
Angie Fish had a very nice close to her career at the 2019 MSHSL state gymnastics meet at the University of Minnesota on Saturday, February 23.
The senior scored a 9.275 on the balance beam, which matched her section score, to finish in 15th place at the meet that features the best of the best.
But, to show how difficult the bright lights at the state meet can be, Fish’s score was only good enough for third in sections, but she passed both the girls in front of her at state, proving she was able to thrive on the big stage.
“Angie has always had a skill to make beam look like an easy gymnastics event and once again at the state meet she showed off her skills,” Head Coach Chris Johnson said. “As a senior, state meet can bring on more nerves but Angie never let her nerves show and showed her confidence on the beam.
“Her talent on the.beam and her abilities to be a solid all around gymnast will be missed next year.”
