Hibbing 66, Wildcats 62
The Wildcats ended their season with a loss to Hibbing at sections March 5. The Wildcats’ season has been filled with highs and lows under new coach Josh Flug, who has led the team to some impressive wins over Grand Rapids, St. Croix Lutheran and two over rivals North Branch.
While playing a hard-fought game, the Wildcats couldn’t make up for a hot handed Luke Lundell, who dropped in 26 points.
Chisago Lakes had a balanced scoring game with four players scoring in double digits. Led by Seth Thompson and Jackson Timm who put in 14 each. The Wildcats season ended with seven wins and 19 losses. The Wildcats will say goodbye to departing seniors Will Tinjum, Seth Thompson, Jackson Timm, Zac Erickson and David Dunne, who will be sorely missed by the program.
Princeton 82, Vikings 64
North Branch Vikings boys ended their season at sections falling to Princeton 82-64. The Vikings struggled this season with consistency earning wins againt Mora, Milaca, Braham and two against rival St. Francis.
The Vikings had a tough matchup with Princeton, who has spent much of the season ranked in the state. Per usual, the Tigers were led by star Adam Williams who led all scorers with 23 points. Princeton only had five players that registered a score.
The Vikings had seven players score with Zach Gazda leading the Vikings with 18 points and Colby Knutson chipping in 12 points.
The Vikings finish the season 5-21. Five seniors will be saying goodbye including Gazda, Knutson, Conner Hartman, Rylen Nelson and Austin Grovender.
