NB squeezes past Mora in first leg of brutal schedule
The North Branch girls tennis team started their stretch of four games in four days with a nail-biting 4-3 win over Mora on Monday, September 23.
In singles, Chloe and Miaya played very consistent tennis, with both winning in straight sets. It was some great matches for both of the girls,” Head Coach Joel Santjer said.
Katelyn played incredibly well at fourth singles, losing in a battle, 6-7, 5-7.
Doubles shined again for the Vikes, with battles at all three positions.
At first, Sophie and Hollie started slow, but then came on strong to battle back. They would eventually lose in three sets, 3-6, 6-4, 3-6.
At second dubs, Rachel and Hailey kept their roll on, winning 6-1, 6-3.
The match came down to third doubles, with Carrie and Sophie in a battle. They won the first set 7-5, then lost the second set 4-6, then would power through the third set 6-3 to win the match and secure the team victory. “It was great matches all down the courts as the Vikes start out the week with a nice win,” Santjer said after the match.
