CL remains unbeaten in tennis
Chisago Lakes kept their unblemished record in tact after beating Monticello 6-1 on a challenging, windy day on Thursday, September 3.
They were one tiebreaker away from sweeping the Magic, but a 6-1 win was still dominating and over fairly quickly.
Greta Gillach was the personification of domination in her one singles match up against junior Hannah Meyer. Gillach was flawless in her win, earning the 6-0, 6-0 sweep.
At second and third singles, Emily Erickson and Maddie Gamble made quick work of their opponents. Erickson won 6-3, 6-1 and Gamble won 6-1, 6-4.
At fourth singles, Kelsey Madden made her varsity debut for CL this season and won 6-4, 3-6 and 10-7 in a tiebreaker.
The first two doubles teams also cruised to wins. Jill Erickson and Chloe Zupko won 6-1, 6-4 at first doubles and Grace DeVries and Jenna Lawry won 6-2, 6-4 in straight sets.
The lone point for Monticello came when the third doubles team of Abby Sprado and Kayla Bluhm fell just short in a tiebreaker. They lost 6-7 (5-7), 6-1, 7-10 in a back and forth affair.
