Old NSC foe stings Chisago Lakes

Benilde-St. Margaret’s 61, Chisago Lakes 38
The Wildcats were glad that they are over a half decade removed from having to play Benilde-St. Margaret’s twice a year in basketball on Tuesday, December 7.

The ‘Cats took on the Red Knights in an old North Suburban Conference showdown.

CL had trouble stopping Kendall McGee and Olivia Olson, as the duo combined to match CL’s whole output with 38 points.

For the ‘Cats, many girls got in on the scoring, but they just couldn’t keep up with BSM’s top-end firepower. Greta Gillach had 10 points, Emily Erickson and Alyssa Hempel had eight points each and Katherine Saueressig had seven points. But, CL had just 16 rebounds as a team, and that’s tough for an aggressive, talent team like BSM, as they had plenty of second chance points.

The ‘Cats took on Sauk Rapids-Rice on Tuesday, and will open their conference schedule with an away game at St. Francis on Thursday, December 18. They’ll fit one more game in before Christmas break, hosting Bemidji on Saturday, December 18.
