Two Rivers loss lingers for North Branch

North Branch went into their mini-break of just one game in 10 days with a tough loss to Two Rivers on Tuesday, December 7.

After starting out 2-0 and matching last season’s win total, the Vikings were riding high, but the Warriors used a balanced scoring attack to sink the Vikings, who were fairly limited in their offensive distribution.

The Vikings got a game-high 20 points from Trevor Johnson, 10 points from Adam Rehm and nine points from Andrew Thauwald, but only two other players scored, and that was Connor Murphy and Gabe Huset, who combined for five points.

Two Rivers, on the other hand, had 11 players on the score sheet, including eight players who scored five or more points. They were led by Carson Christiansen and Max Mogelson, who scored 14 and 11 points, respectively.

The loss was tough for North Brach, especially since they haven’t been able to get on the court again since the stinging loss. They’ll squeeze in four games between now and their Christmas break, with an away game at Cloquet on Thursday, December 16, a home tussle with Hilly Murray on Friday, December 17 and then two long road trips on December 21 and 23 to take on Pine City and Hermantown.
