Osseo 4, Northern Edge 1 The Northern Edge came out blazing In their final game of the regular season. They got on the scoreboard first against the Osseo Orioles and outshot the Orioles 19-1 in the first period. But Orioles goalie Jake Regan shut the door after the first goal and led his team to a 4-1 win over the Edge. The game was played Tuesday, February 15 at Osseo.
Isaiah Scarborough scored the Edge goal at 7:49 of the first period, Assisted by Loghan Croal. Osseo tied it up just over a minute later on their only shot of the period. They scored the only goal of a tightly contested second period to go up 2-1. The Orioles took control of the game in the third period, outshooting the Edge 13-5. They added an insurance goal at 15:22 of the third period and scored again less than a minute later to make the final score 4-1.
Duluth East 3, Northern Edge 0 The season ended with a whimper instead of a bang for the 10-seeded Edge, who were shut out 3-0 by the seventh-seeded Duluth East Greyhounds in the opening round of the Section 7AA playoffs Saturday, February 19 at the Duluth Heritage Sports Center. The Greyhounds controlled the game from start to finish. They outshot the Vikings 14-0 in the first period and went on to have a 40-10 advantage in shots for the game. Edge goalie Riley Pickell, making his first appearance of the season, helped to keep his team in the game. The sophomore stopped 37 of the 40 shots he faced.
