Chisago Lakes 4, Forest Lake 3 Despite not playing in the same conference, Chisago Lakes and Forest Lake have a nice, friendly rivalry in tennis, and it’s been a while since the Wildcats got the best of the Rangers, but they nabbed them on Saturday, May 14 in a tournament.
Rhivers Sauter and Will Walker both got wins at third and fourth singles to secure two points their, and then Jake Peterson and Will Hennen won an absolute battle at two doubles, winning 7-5, 7-6 (6-2).
Caleb Brink and Nolan Levasseur then teamed up to win at three doubles 6-4, 6-4, and that helped earn the big win for the Wildcats as they prep for section play.
Chisago Lakes 5, Andover 2 The ‘Cats slayed another big school in the same day, topping Andover by a score of 5-2.
Abe Olson won a great three set match at first singles, Jack Hanson had a hard fought victory at second singles, Peterson won again at third singles and Walker finished the singles sweep with a straight set win at four singles.
Hennen and Sauter teamed up for a win at second doubles to give CL another massive late-season win.
The ‘Cats ended their regular season with the wins and will now work at sections. Individual sections will be at Blaine on Saturday, May 21 at 9 a.m. The team portion will start Tuesday, May 24 at Brainerd.
