Sizzling hot streak continues for top-ranked 'Cats
Chisago Lakes 4, Minneapolis 2
The Wildcats played their worst period of the season in the first period against Minneapolis on Thursday, February 25.  Officially, Minneapolis outshot the Wildcats 8-0, but the true Minneapolis shot count was 14 or 15.  Whatever the count, Wildcat goalie Anna Hanson stopped every one of those shots, so the game was still scoreless at the end of one.  The Wildcats finally woke up midway through the second period and went on to beat Minneapolis 4-2.  The game was played at Chisago Lakes Arena.

Bonus points abound in narrow win for Wildcats over Vikings
Chisago Lakes 42, North Branch 41
The difference in the Wildcats’ 42-41 win over the Vikings at North Branch on Tuesday, February 23 was the saving of a single point.  With the other 13 individual matchups resulting in six points, either by pin or by forfeit, the outcome of the dual was determined by the 152-pound match between Viking Ashton LaBelle and Wildcats Nolan Huffman.  While LaBelle won handily, he could not complete the pin of Huffman – LaBelle won by an 18-3 technical fall, earning five points instead of six.  “Nolan knew he needed to save team points if he could,” said Wildcat head coach Shawn Frederixon.  “He did his best and saved that point.  It was a smart bit of wrestling.”
