Chisago Lakes storms state tournament for third place |
State Tournament In their first state tournament appearance in school history, the Wildcat softball team came in third place. They opened with a 6-1 win over the Benilde-St. Margaret’s Red Knights, lost 4-0 to the Winona WInhawks in the semifinals and finished with an 8-2 win over the Simley Spartans in the third-place game. The games were played at the impressive Caswell Park softball complex in North Mankato last Thursday and Friday. Friday, June 17, 2022

| Wildcat baseball season ends in championship game | Grand Rapids 9, Chisago Lakes 2 The Wildcats had a tall task heading into the Section 7AAA championship game against the top-seeded Grand Rapids Thunderhawks at Hermantown last Wednesday, June 8, having used up their top pitching to get there through the elimination bracket. The Thunderhawks took an early 3-0 lead and put the game out for reach with a three-run sixth inning, beating the Wildcats 9-2. The loss ended the season for the Wildcats and sent the Thunderhawks to the state tournament for the second straight season. Friday, June 17, 2022

| 'Cats hit bump in road but still cruise to M8C championship | Chisago Lakes 12, Cambridge-Isanti 6 Anna Zaruba had a run scoring double in each of the first three innings to lead the Wildcats to a 12-6 win over the Cambridge-Isanti Bluejackets Tuesday, May 10 at Chisago Lakes High School. The Wildcats scored four runs in each of those first three innings and pounded out 13 hits in the game. In four plate appearances, Ashley Mandell got two hits, walked twice, drove in two runs, and scored three.
