Annual Meeting and
Election of One Area 3
and One Area 4 Board of
(January 16, 23, 30, 2020)
The Annual Meeting of the Chisago Lakes Lake Improvement District will be Monday, February 3, 2020, at 6:30 p.m., in conference room 150B, lowest level, Chisago County Government Center, Center City.
The mission of the Chisago Lakes Lake Improvement District is to restore, preserve, protect and enhance the water resources of the Chisago Lakes Chain of Lakes watershed. The Annual Meeting will include a presentation showcasing 2019 projects and activities.

The Chisago Lakes Lake Improvement District solicited applications for the Area 3 and Area 4 Board of Directors positions. Publication and notice of candidate filing opportunities occurred in December 2019 issues of the Chisago County Press. The notice was distributed among area lake associations and posted on the Chisago Lakes Lake Improvement District website. The candidate application deadline for Area 3 and Area 4
Board of Directors positions expired on January 3, 2020.
Area 3 Board of Directors Election
Area 3 is bounded on the west by County Road 24, to the south by Highway 8, crosses the channel between South Lindstrom and Chisago Lakes at the public access and continues to the east at Mentzer Trail and 295th Street, and on the east at County Road 25 and County Road 20. This includes the area to the north central border of the Chisago Lakes Lake Improvement District. North Lindstrom, South Lindstrom, and Wallmark Lakes are included in this area.
Candidate(s) that have submitted an application include: Jeff Fink and Margaret LeVasseur.
Area 4 Board of Directors Election
Area 4 is bounded on the west by County Roads 24/23/91, to the north by Highway 8, crosses the channel between South Lindstrom and Chisago Lakes at the public access and continues to the east at Mentzer Trail and 295th Street, and to the south at County Road 25. This includes the area to the south central border of the Chisago Lakes Lake Improvement District. Chisago, Kroon, Boo and Spider Lakes are included in this area.
Candidate(s) that have submitted an application include: Shawn Dunne and Steven Paquay.
Absentee ballots are available to any eligible voter requesting one. Eligible voters include all of the property owners residing in the District. Each property owner, including owners of more than one property, is entitled to one vote. Property owners names must be identified on Chisago County property tax records as owners of property. The list of property owners residing in the District will be updated from the Chisago County records within 30 days of an election.
Absentee ballots must be delivered to the Chisago County Government Center, Environmental Services office, 313 North Main Street, Center City, MN 55012 by 3:00 pm. February 3, the day of the annual meeting. Absentee ballots received after 3:00 p.m. are void and will not be counted.

In order to receive and return an absentee ballot by US mail it is recommended your request be received by January 27, 2020. Absentee ballots may be returned in person up to 3:00 p.m. on the day of the election.
