(November 25, 2021)

Members Present: Mark Leigh, Lori Berg, Brenda Carlson, Danielle Strenke, Jeff Lindeman, Sarah Aadland, Superintendent Jennissen

Visitors:  Jodi Davis, Darci Peckman-Krueger, Eric Simmons, John Douglas, Anna Martinka, Jina Saueressig, Scott Carlson, Chris Marks, Andy Wilhelmy, Peg Killeen, Scott Anderson

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM and began with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Motion by Berg, seconded by Carlson with all in favor of accepting the agenda as written.

Saueressig spoke during the Open Forum about the Local 284 vote on the MOU for subs and Scott Carlson spoke about the custodial negotiations.

The SCRED Annual Report was shared with the Board.  Robyn Vosberg-Torgerson attended remotely to share the September unaudited financial picture.  John Douglas, student board rep shared his thoughts on homecoming and Anna Martinka, the newest student board rep shared a bit about herself and thanked the board for the opportunity to be involved.  Superintendent Jennissen shared information from the COVID dashboard and spoke a bit about the proposed levy survey being compiled for staff.  CLEM negotiations and finance committee updates were given.

Motion by Berg, seconded by Carlson  with all in favor of approving the Consent Agenda items as presented:

Claims and Accounts:  Hand payables in the amount of $83,952.76; Investments – General Fund $1,000,000.00 purchased 9/13/2021, MSDLAF + term yield .06%, due 2/22/2022;

Employee timecard reimbursements dated 9/10/2021 in the amount of $4,420.74.  A second employee timecard reimbursement report dated 9/27/2021 in the amount of $5576.89.

17 Bonds dated 10/1/1021 in the amount of $13,618.75 for check number 1603 through 1606.

Computer payables dated 9/21/2021 for check number 140864 through 141013 in the amount of $528,926.97.  A second set of computer payables dated 9/30/2021 for check number 141014 through 141119 in the amount of $316,315.15.

Minutes: The minutes from the 9/23/2021 and the 9/29/2021 meetings are attached for approval.

Enrollment:  The enrollment at of 10/11/2021 for Chisago Lakes Schools was 3311.

Grant/Donation:  Mr. Riebe has applied for a $4,000.00 grant from Polaris for a new promethean board for 2nd grade.          Polaris has donated $1700.00 through activities for advertisement.

Was no Old Business to discuss.

Motion by Berg, seconded by Carlson with all in favor of approving the annual submission of the Assurance of Compliance report in accordance with the MN rule 353.9910, with none opposed to same.  Motion carried.

Motion by Berg, seconded by Strenke, all in favor of approving the handbook changes for Lakeside Elementary handbook as presented with none opposed, motion carried.

Motion by Berg, seconded by Carlson with all in favor of approving the 90 day extension of the probationary period of an employee.

Motion by Berg, seconded by Carlson with all in favor of approving the MOA regarding frontloading sick time for CLEM, none opposed, motion carried.

Motion by Carlson, seconded by Strenke with all in favor of  the increase in sub pay effective 11/1/2021 for the custodians and food service workers.

Motion by Carlson, seconded by Strenke with all in favor of approving the recommended pay increase for substitute teachers effective 11/1/2021.

Motion by Lindeman, seconded by Carlson with all in favor of approving the proposal of hiring a 1.0 FTE RN, none opposed, motion carried.

Motion by Carlson, seconded by Aadland with all in favor of approving the renewed contract with 4.0 School Services of Chisago Lakes, Inc., for July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2023.

The Communication Specialist item was tabled until further conversation with Michelle Kleist, Director of Community Education.

Motion by Lindeman, seconded by Strenke with all in favor of hiring a 1.0 FTE first shift custodian position at the Middle School with none opposed, motion carried.

Motion by Carlson, seconded by Lindeman with all in favor of hiring a 1.0 FTE assistant custodian position at Lakeside with none opposed, motion carried.

Motion by Berg, seconded by Lindeman with all in favor of hiring a .50 FTE behavior teacher at Lakeside with none opposed, motion carried.

Motion by Carlson to adjourn at 7:45 PM, seconded by Aadland with all in favor and none opposed, motion carried.
