NATIONAL PARK SERVICE -
Notice of Realty Action Proposed Exchange United States Department of the
Interior of federally owned lands for privately owned lands located in St. Croix National Scenic Riverway, Chisago County, Minnesota
(September 8, 15, 22, 2022)
The National Park Service (NPS) has determined that a land exchange is necessary for Saint Croix National Scenic Riverway to resolve encroachment upon public lands. P.L. 90-542, 82 Stat. 906 as amended, authorizes the Secretary of the Interior to make this land exchange after receipt of public comment. This notice is to provide a 45-calendar day public comment period.
The National Park Service (NPS) and David L. Roth (Roth), plan to exchange 3 parcels of land providing mutual benefits to NPS and Roth.
All three parcels of land are in part of Government Lot 4, Section 2, Township 34 North, Range 19 West of the Fourth Principal Meridian, Chisago County, MN. NPS would convey fee simple title in a 0.58-acre parcel to Roth, identified as Tract No. 57-102A, reserving a scenic easement to the NPS. In exchange Roth would convey fee simple title to a 1.04-acre parcel to NPS, identified as Tract No. 57-149 and Roth would also convey fee simple title to a 0.70-acre parcel to NPS, identified as Tract No. 57-150. This would resolve encroachments upon public lands and to provide NPS with road access to the river.
