Pine Tech year-free scholarship expands to North Branch
Graduates in the Class of 2019 from North Branch High School now have an opportunity too good to pass-up. The North Branch district is now included in the Kick Start Scholarship program, with Pine Technical and Community College in Pine City. To qualify the student’s family should be eligible for Free and Reduced Meal Programs. They do not have to be enrolled and using the benefit, they just need to qualify. To determine that, go to www.isd138.org/Page/143 and fill in a program application found on the page.
Kick Start is funded by an anonymous donation from a family foundation and pays for a student’s first year attending Pine Tech and provides $1,000 for books and educational tools.
The School Board was thrilled to hear Supt. Deb Henton announce at the December 13 meeting that North Branch 2019 graduates were now on the list of districts from which students can apply. Kick Start also is available to students from Braham, Pine City, Willow River, Mora, Ogilvie, Isle, Hinckley-Finlayson.
