4/12/2019 2:40:00 PM North Branch officials in job-shuffle with Ellerbusch accepting job leading Barnesville Schools
With 15 years as North Branch’s middle school principal under his belt, Todd Tetzlaff has just agreed to a big career change. He will be accepting the newly-defined North Branch District Business Services Director job.
As of July 1, his vice-principal, Kelly Detzler, is becoming North Branch Middle School Interim Principal.
The plan is to not fill the assistant principal’s slot, and duties are being assumed by various staff. The Community Education Director Brett Carlson, high school Vice Principal Glen Stevens and Sunrise Elementary School Assistant Principal Rebecca Johnson are in place to provide assistant principal supports for the middle school.
The net result creates savings that Superintendent Dr. Deb Henton said will “...positively impact our ability to preserve more staff at the building level.”
Henton continued, “We are very proud of Kelly. And, the staff support we have received for this change has been overwhelmingly positive.”
Detzler’s been at North Branch as assistant principal since 2010. She taught all the middle school grades at St. Paul Public Schools prior.
Tetzlaff has been principal since 2003. He is able to pursue business services and administrative aspects of public education with the resignation this month of Jon Ellerbusch. Ellerbusch has only been in North Branch briefly. He is leaving to be the superintendent at Barnesville Public Schools.
His North Branch job description was as finance and human resources director, the title held by recently-retired Randi Johnson.
According to the statement from the district describing the shuffle of positions, the district’s overall plan is to achieve administrative cost reduction. so Dr. Henton will oversee Human Resources.
Tetzlaff starts as “Director of Business Services” July 1.
