North Branch rejects request to provide academy busing
The North Branch School District Board on a 6-0 vote, declined to approve a request from a charter school asking for busing services for charter school pupils next year.  The North Branch Board cited multiple reasons for not getting involved in transporting Phoenix Academy students. Chief among these were that Phoenix has an not paid what it owes North Branch for providing Targeted Services administration, and that Phoenix missed the statutory deadline for notifying public schools of need for transportation services.

North Branch earns "Powerade for Schools" funds
Recently, the North Branch School District activities office was awarded with the annual Viking Coca-Cola "Powerade For Schools" check. The money is earned from the Activities Office purchase of Powerade to sell in concession stands. All profits from concessions sales are divided among the teams and clubs that work events throughout the year.  Approximately 20 of the high school's teams or clubs use this opportunity for extra funds for their programs. The check is added to those funds.  Over the past five years, the Activities Program has received $18,183.39 from the "Powerade For Schools" campaign.  North Branch is the top earner in the region for this program.   Pictured (L-R): Viking Coca-Cola North Branch Rep Lindsey Doolittle, A.D.
