Budget cuts finalized in special Chisago Lakes board meeting

Chisago Lakes students represent at BPA state | Chisago Lakes High School students earned recognition at Minnesota Business Professionals of America State conference. Twelve students from Chisago Lakes participated in the annual Minnesota Business Professionals of America (BPA) State Leadership Conference held virtually over the past two weeks. During the school year, 1,200 Minnesota BPA student members take part in the organization's competitive events program, allowing them to compete in events focused in the areas of finance, business administration, management information systems, digital communication and design, and management, marketing and communication. | North Branch bringing back school community service day | The North Branch Area School District plans to bring back Community Service Day this May, and chores and projects for the students to do are being set-up now. The public is asked to suggest things that students could handle, in a safe socially distanced manner and that would fulfill the philosophy behind this 10-year-old tradition in the district. | North Branch budget based on one percent state pupil aid increase | The North Branch School Board was reviewing the school district budget information recently for the 2021-2022 year and if the state legislature goes with a minimum of just a one percent increase in aid, North Branch will be okay. | Area student gets once-in-a-lifetime opportunity this spring |
Come the month of March when many students are in spring break mode there’ll be one high school junior in Almelund, who will be gearing up for just the opposite. Selected to attend the Congress of Future Medical Leaders, Brooklyn Nelson will be immersed in a two day on-line experience, bringing together Nobel Laureates and National Medal of Science winners, top medical school Deans and even patients sharing knowledge and real life experiences to inspire, motivate and recognize select high achieving students. | Groundbreaking for
Community Center |
Members of the current and past Chisago Lakes School Board were on hand to break ground on the new community center. The building will sit on the current student parking lot next to the swimming pool.
