North Branch robotics teams fare well at Lakeville tournament
 | Three North Branch FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) teams competed in late November at Lakeville South High School. With numerous first year groups, it was a tremendous learning experience for driving the robot, learning game strategies, and finding ways to improve the robot before the next competition. North Branch support staff accepts award |
Resource Training & Solutions honored 116 Educational Support Staff at the 2019 ESS Recognition Event on Wednesday, November 20. The 2018 Educational Support Staff Awards (ESS) were hosted by the Executive Director at Resource Training & Solutions. Over 300 attended the annual event. Schools and districts across Resource's central Minnesota region nominate award recipients based on suggested criteria that includes knowledge of work responsibilities, demonstration of safety, cultivation of respect, acting as a positive role model, displaying genuine concern for others, and making a difference in the lives of students, staff, and the community. Public, private, parochial, and charter schools were included in the event, as well as Meeker and Wright Special Education Cooperative, the West Central Education District, and the Wright Technical Center. Participating school districts, along with Resource Training & Solutions, sponsor the Educational Support Staff Awards (ESS). Friday, December 6, 2019

| Help support rapidly growing high school
band program, band booster garage sale Nov. 9 |
The Chisago Lakes Marching Band wrapped up its 2019 season October 14 with an incredible Indoor Concert. The newly formed and official non-profit Chisago Lakes Band Boosters put on a “Bandquet” for all 75 students before the concert to honor them and their families for all the hard work and dedication they contributd for such a successful season! Band Boosters also presented each student with a keychain as a small token of appreciation for how well each student played their part. | LREMS, Family Pathways and Chisago Lakes Schools team up for good cause |
Lakes Region EMS, Family Pathways, along with each Chisago Lakes school offers a program to make sure that kids have the food they need for weekends and over holiday breaks. Above left to right: LREMS Community Outreach Specialist Jessica Keeney, Chisago Lakes Primary Principal Brenda Schell, Family Pathways Director Kathy Willis and Chisago Lakes Middle School Principal Ralph Fairchild. The young students are provided food items, packed in their school backpacks, to bring home when they are not receiving a meal in school. Family Pathways Food Pantries help with the food items. | Preliminary North Branch School Board levy adopted | North Branch School Distirct 138 Finance Director Dr. Todd Tetzlaff described the pay-2020 levy that he presented last week as “pretty consistent” with 2019’s. | Groundbreaking for
Community Center |
Members of the current and past Chisago Lakes School Board were on hand to break ground on the new community center. The building will sit on the current student parking lot next to the swimming pool.
