 | The Press checked in with the state fire marshal’s investigation unit on the North Branch house fire where two men’s bodies were found March 5. The state has not released a cause for the fire and the case remains open. James Schwalich, 56 and Jacob Humphreys, 43, were identified by authorities as the victims.

Enforcement | Lakes Area Police were asked to check into a trailer that was discovered on the property at Family Pathways in Chisago City. The item is blue, described as an “EZ” loader 20 feet in length, it has no serial number or license. If you have information the police could use to find the lawful owner please call 257-0622.

Enforcement | Reports of open water on South Center Lake were looked into for possible man made causes. The joint sewer commission heard at its meeting this week there is no leak in the wastewater piping system on the lakebed. The cause of the open water site is believed to be a small spring in the area.
