Law enforcement is continuing to find overnight in town street parking violations. Written warnings mainly are being used, but the rule disallowing on-street overnight vehicle parking lasts until April in the local major cities.
The authorities also continue to get reports of counterfeit bills being passed. The cases are being documented and forwarded to the Secret Service.
February 21 a carbon monoxide alarm sounded at an address in Lindstrom about 2:45 p.m. Lindstrom Fire responded and cleared the scene without injury.
A burglary was reported in the Stacy area, at an address on Forest Blvd. and Lakes Area Police went to assist establishing a perimeter. Two suspects were apprehended. The incident was at approximately 6:55 a.m.
Two vehicle crash reported at Lofton and Green Lake Trail south of Chisago City, about 7:55 p.m. Vehicle northbound on Lofton, slid through stop sign and hit a car traveling on Green Lake Trail. No serious injury noted.
February 20 curtains reportedly caught fire and triggered Lindstrom Fire Dept. —which put out the fire and contained the damage. Incident was reported at an address on 318th in the township about 6 p.m.
February 18 was a busy day for county law enforcement, with thefts and multiple carshes due to icy roads Deputies took a call of a forced entry into a car at the Full Moon Bar in Stark and a purse was missing along with credit cards, etc. The cardholder had been informed a charge was made already that night to a store in Cambridge. Not long before this report, another car break-in was reported in Rush City on 4th St. A credit card missing from this owner had been declined at a store when someone tried to charge several hundred dollars to it.
Meantime— items believed to have been taken in a theft from storage units in Shafer last week were recovered and the presumed owners are being notified.
There was a crash about 8:30 a.m. at the roundabout on Hwy. 8 and Pleasant Valley Road, Center City. Nobody was hurt, when westbound and eastbound vehicles collided as one lost control on the icy surface.
Stacy-Lent firefighters were called to cut a driver out of his small truck when he went into the ditch on Stacy Trail at #30, about 7:30 a.m. Again, icy conditions led to the incident. No injury reported.
