 | Law enforcement is continuing to find overnight in town street parking violations. Written warnings mainly are being used, but the rule disallowing on-street overnight vehicle parking lasts until April in the local major cities. Friday, February 26, 2021

Lakes Area Police were seeing a heightened awareness and concern about healthcare worker safety, probably in light of the recent shooting and explosives at the Allina Clinic in Buffalo. Calls were received about a belligerent disruptive patient at a Lindstrom clinic and officers were dispatched. The individual was gone when they arrived. | Law Enforcement | The Chisago City Fire Dept. had an active week— it responded to a mobile home fire, Feb. 7 Sunday, about 7:50 a.m. at Berglund Avenue, northwest of the intersection of Lofton and Hwy. 8. The LAPD reports the trailer was unoccupied when fire crews arrived and no injuries were reported. Chisago City also had a call of a powerline down and flames beginning, at an address on Jonquil Avenue, also Sunday, about 4 a.m. The powerline was handled without serious incident. Remember when clearing snow— not to shove snow across the road where your driveway ends...it leaves piles on either side of the plow where snow spills and this hardens and creates a traffic hazard. Law enforcement is noticing this activity and making an effort to educate people. Also, street overnight parking bans remain in force until April. January 17 deputies were sent to an address on Cooper Lane, Rush City on report of older male being assaulted by 19-year old suspect. The suspect was allegedly combative and bit a deputy. Back-up and ambulance were dispatched and suspect was transported due to level of intoxication. Charges are being reviewed. Incident started about 6:20 p.m. Friday, January 22, 2021
