 | January 10 the sheriff’s snowmobile patrol was stationed in Harris, near the trail at 425th and Old 61. Six violations of no certificate, no registration number displayed, speed and no stop at sign, were issued. Friday, January 15, 2021

January 3 a vehicle hit and snapped a power pole in Fish Lake Township, near Rush Point Drive West and electric service was impacted. ECE was alerted and handled the repairs. Call came in about 3 p.m. Vehicle operator said she swerved to avoid a deer. Friday, January 8, 2021

Stabbing in Sunrise Chisago County Sheriff’s Office released preliminary details about an alleged stabbing this week. Monday about 6 p.m. a call came into 9-1-1 that John and Darcy Hiland had sustained stab wounds and needed assistance. The deputies on the scene were told it was their adult son, who lives with them, who had stabbed them. Injuries described as “critical” required LifeLink III air ambulance to be dispatched. Lakes Region EMS also responded with Almelund Fire Dept. and North Branch Police. The victims were listed in stable condition by the following day. According to the sheriff the suspect, Tyler Hiland, 26, is in jail and he was apprehended without incident. His arraignment on first degree assault was pending at press time.
