STACY CITY COUNCIL

Jennie Carlson
QUESTION #1
Start your response by informing readers which seat you are running for.  Describe what you specifically will contribute as a positive force for your city.  For example, do you have prior accomplishments related to being an office-holder? Is your professional background suited especially?
I am running for a four-year seat on the City of Stacy city council. I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies and Political Science and then began my career at Xcel Energy. I have made my way up through many roles at Xcel Energy working on capital projects as a project and program coordinator and currently as an accounting analyst. My professional experience will prove to be especially helpful in the budgeting aspects of a role on the city council. I have met with previous council members to learn the general responsibilities and I look forward to jumping headfirst into the role if I am elected. I believe that I would be a great addition to the city council as I could provide a fresh perspective from a younger generation which could prove very beneficial for the younger population in the area as well as the long term residents looking for change.

QUESTION #2
If you had to name one thing holding your community back, keeping it from being the best place to live ever, what is that and what do you want to do about it?
One of the things that I think would help the area would be more residential living space, such as an apartment building or more housing developments. More residents would bring in more businesses and continue the growth of this great city. Another thing that I believe would be beneficial would be keeping the public more thoroughly informed. I think that a larger social media presence would help with that. It would be great to share things such as city events, council meeting agendas, news and notes, new businesses coming to the area, and anything positive happening with the city. I think it would help residents feel more a part of the community and connected with the city.

I am running for a four year Stacy City Council seat. I have been a resident of Stacy for over nine years, and my goal in running is becoming  more involved in my community. I previously have served on our Planning Commission for several years.  I have over 30 years of operations and management experience that I believe will be valuable to our city to help us grow, offer more services whenever possible, and run our city efficiently while focusing on our residents and community.

QUESTION #2
If you had to name one thing holding your community back, keeping it from being the best place to live ever, what is that and what do you want to do about it?
Many items contribute to a strong city. One area that I will focus on is promoting more individual community involvement. I plan to do this by getting out to areas of our city and actively introducing myself and asking residents to become involved in an activity, committee, or any way that can help Stacy become stronger, more vibrant and a community that attracts new businesses and residents.

Hi my name is Tim Sawatzky and I’m running for the four year seat of Stacy city council. If elected, my contribution to the city will be that I will be a fresh face and not the same ol’ incumbent.

QUESTION #2
If you had to name one thing holding your community back, keeping it from being the best place to live ever, what is that and what do you want to do about it?
The things that hold the city back to an extent is lack of businesses. Also, the lack of citizens involvement in city issues. I feel as taxpayers we pay for a service so we should expect services to be rendered.
